Our Wedding / Finding “the dress”

I have a confession to make…I actually bought my wedding dress before we were engaged. In my defense we had been planning our wedding for a couple of months already. We knew we wanted to get married in May and after reading about “the perfect time to buy your dress” I soon found out that the ideal time to buy one is 6-9 months before and we were already six months out. Insert freak out moment here. So the search began. A dress designer I loved was having a trunk show and there was only one day that I could go so I flew down my Mom and Aunt from…

    John Boultbee

I have been trying to dress a little better these days but it’s not easy living in Los Angeles. I mean we only have 3 days of cold weather so that doesn’t leave leave a lot of options. That doesn’t mean I can’t dress up in a more relaxed SoCal style.    Shirt – J. Crew Glasses – Tom Ford Belt – Club Monaco Jeans – Williamsburg Garment Wallet –  John Boultbee Boots- Timberland

I knew I wanted fresh, clean, neutrals. I don’t do bright and bold and our venue is so beautiful that we really don’t need anything to take away from it. After pinning and pinning, my amazing coordinator (oh hey Beijos Events) came up with exactly what I had in mind but couldn’t put it into words (or photos, go figure). So here’s a little mood board showing what’s to come for #bravwelsaysido! I’m really, really excited about the team of vendors…

While in the midst of planning a wedding and having our own really busy lives we decided to redecorate our small home. With there being so many large stores we are running across a lack of diversity. I mean we like West Elm, but we don’t want to create another one of their stores in our house, ya know? So we were thrilled to have found Spartan Shop, an online store based out of Austin Texas. It’s a great source for some home goods and pottery. If you’re looking for a little originality in your decorating you should check them out. These are a few things we liked – Collection…

    Indigo

I had been eying this dress on the rack for months and finally one day I saw it in the clearance section…all by itself…for $19.99. Guys, I died. I grabbed it up like I was in the Hunger Games. I love how it pairs with heels and a statement necklace and how easily it also could go with a cute pair of sandals for an lunch with friends. Loving this piece in my closet right now! ______________________________ Dress – Anthropologie (sold out) Necklace – Madewell Heels – Aldo (Similar and not really similar but I love these) Lips – Korres lip butter in wild rose (THE best) ______________________________
