Our Wedding / The Ceremony
While planning our wedding the one thing we knew we wanted was a simple ceremony site. My (megan’s) dream was to say I do in a golden meadow which maaaay be why May was the chosen month for our wedding date. I knew the grass would be golden and so when we booked Figueroa Farmhouse we made sure to tell the site manager to NOT mow the grass. We wanted that gorgeous tall, golden grass to be the main focal point. Choosing simple, wooden benches for seating was a no brainer since, again, we didn’t want to take away from the view. And having Carissa of JL Designs add that simple…

Afternoon Date at SteelCraft
I came across this place on instagram recently (thanks social media!) and decided to surprise Adam with a date yesterday afternoon in our own hood. SteelCraft is a really cool outdoor eatery in the Bixby Knolls neighborhood of Long Beach with all of the restaurants made of shipping containers. They have everything from ramen to gourmet waffles (banana cream waffles, guys) to hawaiian shaved ice and Smog City Brewing for those of you beer lovers. There is plenty of seating and a little lawn area where you can bring a blanket and do dinner or lunch picnic style. It’s still in it’s soft opening so only a couple of places…

Our Wedding / Why we chose to do a First Look
We always knew we wanted to do a first look. The idea of getting the portraits out of the way before the ceremony, being able to enjoy our cocktail hour with our friends and family and (hopefully) getting out some of those pre ceremony jitters were our main decision makers but I don’t think either of us anticipated the emotions we’d have. Being able to have that time alone with each other on an otherwise kind of insane day was so, soooo good. I know a lot of couples worry that if they do a first look it won’t be as special when they walk down the aisle and see…

A little San Francisco Getaway
Last fall we had a weekend getaway to one of our favorite places. We arrived in the evening, stopped at our airbnb in the adorable Pacific Heights neighborhood and walked straight to Delfina for a little midnight snack because when you’re on vacation carbs don’t count. We woke up extra early Saturday morning, grabbed an uber and headed straight to our favorite breakfast spot in all of the land, Plow (get there before they open to get a good spot in line. They fill up FAST!) Seriously, if you haven’t been you are really missing out. Get the buttermilk biscuit and honey butter (my mouth is literally watering just typing…

Korakia Palm Springs
After our Joshua Tree adventures were done we decided to spend another night in the desert and make our way to Palm Springs. We arrived in PS and went straight to Arrive (see what I did there?) to check out this newer hotel and have some lunch. The restaurant was great, delicious drinks and lunch and from what we saw it looks like a gorgeous hotel! After lunch we made our way to our hotel, Korakia. I’ve been dying to stay at this gorgeous Moroccan/Mediterranean hotel for quite some time and was so excited to finally see it in all of it’s glory. The grounds are gorgeous, one side is…
