The “what are your colors” conundrum

Isn’t that always one of the first questions a bride gets asked? The “What are your colors?” question came quickly and from everywhere and honestly, I had no idea. I knew I wanted fresh, clean, neutrals. I don’t do bright and bold and our venue is so beautiful that we really don’t need anything to take away from it. After pinning and pinning, my amazing coordinator (oh hey Beijos Events) came up with exactly what I had in mind but couldn’t put it into words (or photos, go figure). So here’s a little mood board showing what’s to come for #bravwelsaysido! I’m really, really excited about the team of vendors…

    Indigo

I had been eying this dress on the rack for months and finally one day I saw it in the clearance section…all by itself…for $19.99. Guys, I died. I grabbed it up like I was in the Hunger Games. I love how it pairs with heels and a statement necklace and how easily it also could go with a cute pair of sandals for an lunch with friends. Loving this piece in my closet right now! ______________________________ Dress – Anthropologie (sold out) Necklace – Madewell Heels – Aldo (Similar and not really similar but I love these) Lips – Korres lip butter in wild rose (THE best) ______________________________

The dining table / Before and After

We scored this great brass base from Craigslist last year and the top that came with it was literally paper thin and mint green. Not really our style. So we were given this wooden top and while the size was perfect for our little dining corner, I haven’t loved how shiny it was. I don’t know why it took me so long to get my hands on the sander and go to town on this thing but it finally happened and although it’s a subtle change, I’m really happy with the results. Before After: ps. Doesn’t it help “afters” look so much better when there’s a beautiful floral arrangement on…

Morning Lavender / Valentines Day Lookbook

Recently we were asked to be one of the couples photographed for the Valentines Day lookbook for Morning Lavender, a beautiful online boutique. It was such a fun afternoon frolicking around in their beautiful skirts and dresses, snuggling up to my guy. Since Valentines Day is slowly creeping up on us you should probably head over to their online store and pick out something special to wear. I really loved that yellow skirt and the way that it flowed so perfectly and made even me (who’s 5’3″) feel tall and slender. Be sure to browse through the beautiful lookbook and shop the looks. Remembering to breathe

1/10/15 We’re four months out and don’t have a venue. What crazy people plan a wedding like this? We do. Also, planning a wedding is REALLY stressful. Like, cry by yourself reading posts about wedding planning stressful. At the end of the day I have to remind myself that it isn’t about the flowers, or the dip died napkins or the beautiful invitations (that your guests throw away about a week after receiving them), it’s about us. Our marriage. Which is really something so beautiful. Adam talked about eloping A LOT in the beginning and even though I know it is truly about our marriage and nothing else, to me…
